Challenge #2: Spring inspiration

Hello and welcome to challenge #2! One of my favorite places to find stamping inspiration is Rosanna Dinnerware. I love the color combinations, patterns and designs they use on their dishes and glassware and always seem to find something I can use in my stamping. The other day I was browsing there and stumbled on this pattern called Chelsea Flowers. Isn't that teapot cute? Below is a look at some of the plates from the line. I love the striped edges and delicate flowers.

Since our theme for this month's challenges is "Celebrations," your challenge this week is to use the Chelsea Flowers dishes as inspiration for a card celebrating a spring holiday or event, such as Easter, Mother's Day, a birthday or anything else you can think of. You can use the colors, patterns, images, or anything else you like for inspiration!
For my sample, I made a Mother's Day card using the colors and patterns from the dishes. The designer paper from Creative Imaginations was a good mimic of the small bouquets of flowers in the dishes. Now I want to see what you can do with this inspiration! Remember, there are no time limits, vendor restrictions or other rules for the challenge. It's only for fun and inspiration. When uploading your card to Splitcoaststampers, Papercraft Planet, StampTV or any other site, please use the keyword RESQ02. And whenever you upload to a site or you blog, be sure to link back here using so we can all see what you've done!

Our FIRST Challenge!

The theme for March is:
CELEBRATIONS!

We are celebrating the start of this new venture and hope you hang around to see where it all goes!

The first challenge is from Jean (naturecoastcrafter):

Birthday Scavenger Hunt

I love scavenger hunts so I tried to figure out a way to do a faux one here.

Depending on your birth month, go to each of the following galleries (they should be linked) and choose the listed item. Use that item to spark your mojo and combine your collected items to create your project--card, page, altered item, whatever.

Birthdays in January through June:

casep ..... and scavenge for a color combination
resqbarbie ..... and scavenge for a sketch
LuvLee ..... and scavenge for stamps or image (anything close to what you have)
jacqueline ..... and scavenge for accessories or DP (like a ribbon treatment or bling or embossing).

Birthdays in July through December:

eliotstamps ..... and scavenge for color combination
resqbarbie ..... and scavenge for a sketch
sarahzoe .....and scavenge for stamps or image (anything close to what you have)
naturecoastcrafter ..... and scavenge for accessories or DP (like a ribbon treatment or bling or embossing)

Here is Jean's sample:

With a little help from my friends, casep, Luvlee, jacqueline, and eliotstamps, from whom I scavenged color combination, sketch, stamp, and embellishments, I put together this card.

color combination: river rock, cool carribean and white from casep
sketch: scsnye11 from eliotstamps
stamp: A Friend by Luvlee
embellishment: jacqueline signature clip treatment

Post your creation to your online gallery or post a picture in the comments section here.

WELCOME!

This challenge blog was created for anyone looking for a no pressure weekly challenge!

This is how it will work...

  • Each month there will be a specific theme...I will be looking to anyone out there to make suggestions! You can upload your creations at any time, there are no time limits. But each week there will be a new challenge.

  • I will choose 4 hostesses per month to post a weekly challenge. I will accept all suggestions as long as they are not copy-cats of any challenges currently posted on SCS, StampTV, PapercraftPlanet or any other popular message board. They can be based on past challenges but not the current one.

  • Each challenge entry can be linked here in the comments area... posted in your gallery on any of the 3 websites listed above and then linked here...or you can link a direct picture from shutterfly or another picture website. Once I figure out how Mr. Linky works, I'll set that up too...

  • If you would like to have your blog (or gallery) linked here, just email me!

THIS CHALLENGE BLOG IS JUST FOR FUN! THERE IS NO LOYALTY HERE TO ANY ONE WEBSITE OR COMPANY. ALL STAMPED IMAGES, PRODUCTS AND PEOPLE ARE WELCOME TO PARTICIPATE. THERE IS NO JUDGING, PRIZES OR DESIGN TEAMS INVOLVED.

IT IS JUST FOR PEOPLE LOOKING FOR A FUN, NO PRESSURE CHALLENGE!
